Gordon Clark: Sex - What Next? (The Indianapolis Star)

1969. Sex – What Next? The Indianapolis Star. Mar 29.

To the Editor of The Star:

State Senator Burton is right in chiding the State Senate for shirking its responsibilities. The left wing students at I.U. have demanded an experimental course in pre-prostitution. If pre-med and pre-law, why not use the girls' rooms for a course in pre-prostitution? The I.U. trustees have acceded to this immoral demand. Now the legislators are unwilling to deny the students their desires.

The next steps are evident. The left wing students will now increase their demands. Open visitation in other universities has been followed by other evils. Columbia, San Francisco, Berkeley, Wisconsin, etc., etc. Is this what the legislature wants? If not, the senators and representatives must stop this assault on decency right now. Allow university control without supervision, and the university will later condone theft, drug addiction, and riots. The Latin American universities are independent of governmental control, and the are centers of revolution with the lowest academic standards.

Our society needs an energetic suppression of crime. It does not need any more permissiveness. Nor does it need a spineless Legislature that will not control what it supports in luxury with our tax money.
