A long time ago, I posted what I called, at the time, a "compilation of what I consider[ed] to be a near comprehensive transcription of Gordon Clark’s positive epistemological views, covering all of his books and, to my knowledge, most of his shorter articles." Since then, many relatively unknown publications by Clark became widely available. Thus, as I recently mentioned, I have spent the last several years updating my research project to account for the new information - letters, articles, notes, etc. - that has been made public.
After adding to my original research, the result is almost 800 searchable pages of quotes that I have found helpful in being able to distill Clark's thought. I was much less discriminate in what I included in the update to my original research project. My original intention was to only include what I considered to be epistemologically relevant statements. I was a bit more flexible this time around, as I anticipated it being much easier to flip through the indices of physical copies of Clark's books (if, for example, I forget the location of a "Clark quote" of which I vague recollection) than it would be to try sifting through hundreds of his individual publications (even if they are online).
With all that being said, I have not gone back through those physical books that were used in my original research. I plan to do that before, God willing, some day setting down to write a book. If that doesn't happen, hopefully someone else will be able to make use of this. Enjoy!
Hello - I just checked on two different devices, and the pdf showed up for both (I also checked while signed out of my google account, and it still showed up).
ReplyDeleteDepending on how fast your device is, it took mine around 5-10 minutes for the full thing to load (if you just leave the device alone for that amount of time). It is also able to be downloaded, yes.
If it continues to be an issue, if you email me at rhedrich3@gmail.com, I can send you a direct copy.
As an aside, the document is already somewhat obsolete. In the past week, I created a rough, chronologized list of Clark's work which I'm using as I go back through the document of quotes to put them in historical order (as best as I can). As I've been doing that, I've continued to work on the document, adding 50 pages. Right now, I've gotten through around 150 pages, which has put the quotes between 1920 and 1940 in approximate, chronological order.
It's going to take some time to complete this iteration of the research, since while I chronologize the list, I also plan to reread each available book/article to see if I missed anything of note. But once it's completed, I think I'll be satisfied the research project is truly complete and might begin to write a book.
Thanks Ryan…I see. Usually PDFs load pretty quick so, indeed, I’ll wait a while. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing the fruit of all your hard work!
